  • 125g flour (3/4 plain, 1/2 wholemeal flour)
  • 50g butter
  • About 5 tblsp. water
  • 3 slices 100% natural ingredients Denny ham
  • 1 small onion thinly sliced
  • 50g grated reduced fat cheddar cheese
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 2 eggs
  • 150ml low fat milk
  • Pepper

  1. Preheat oven to 190°C/375°F.
  2. Lightly oil a 24cm flan dish.
  3. Sieve flour into a bowl and rub in butter until mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
  4. Add sufficient water to give a soft, but not sticky dough.
  5. Roll out the pastry on a floured worktop and use to line the flan dish.
  6. Spread the ham, onion and cheese on the base and arrange the tomato slices on top.
  7. Beat the eggs, milk and pepper together & pour over the flan dish.
  8. Bake for about 30 minutes until the filling is set and golden brown.
  9. Serve with green salad.
