Base Ingredients

  • Soda Bread base
  • 450g/1Ib plain white flour
  • 1 level teaspoon of salt
  • 1 level teaspoon of bread soda finely sieved
  • 400ml buttermilk (approx.)

Toppings

  • Tomato sauce for bolognese
  • A few slices of 100% natural ingredients ham,
  • chopped 6 button mushrooms,
  • sliced 1 small red onion,
  • chopped Grated Cheese
  • Any toppings you like, e.g. sweetcorn, pineapple, peppers
  • Pepper

  1. Preheat oven to 230°C/450°C.
  2. Sieve the flour, salt and bread soda into a mixing bowl.
  3. Make a well in the centre and pour most of the milk into the flour.
  4. Continually draw in flour from the sides of the bowl with your hands, adding more milk if you need to. The dough should be soft but not too sticky.
  5. When the dough comes together, turn it out onto a well-floured work surface. Roll it out thinly to fit the well oiled roasting tin.
  6. Then spread a layer of tomato sauce on the dough.
  7. Sprinkle the ham, mushrooms, onion & whatever toppings you choose over the sauce.
  8. Season with pepper. Cover with grated cheese.
  9. Bake in your pre-heated oven for 20-25 minutes.
  10. Serve with a simple green salad.
  11. Tip: You can put different toppings on the two halves of the pizza if you or your kids have different tastes.
